For my 'Time lab' project I chose Space race. I was debating between Sexsual revolution and Space race, which means I carried out research on both topics in the library. I then found a book, 'Space, A journey of discovery'. The book consists of numbers of satellite images of the Earth as well as images of planets, moons, stars and galaxies photographs taken by astronauts on space. I was particularly fascinated by this book as it made me want to create texture, pattern and colour. This inspired me to look into Space race.
In today’s class we were introduced how to weave with a cardboard. I was excited for this class as it was something I wanted to further explore since Ideas factory. What I like about weaving is that how such small material like yarn can develop, through the process of interweaving, into something completely new and can interact with something as big as the human body. I created 2 woven samples in the morning class by using limited colours and materials such as aluminum foil and yarn. Although my woven samples are not high quality I enjoyed weaving with unexpected materials such as aluminium foil.

I know they’re not practical garments to wear on the street, but they’re stylish! The reason why I chose tweed fabric, was for achieving the fun of clashing two very opposite elements, like classy Chanel jackets VS Nike trainers.
